Fav Bistro Holladay

If our first experience is anything to go by, FAV really will be a fav in our books. I had seen a friend post about having breakfast at FAV on Saturday morning, and made a mental note to try it out as soon as possible. Between us, Nick and I have gone to Chabaar and Tea Rose many a time, and they have never disappointed. We arrived around 8:30pm for dinner Saturday night due to some favorable random happenstance, and sat down in a quiet corner to peruse the menu. At first glance there's a nice variety on the menu of meat, seafood, and veggie options. We decided to go with the popcorn pork, cauliflower chimichurri, and lychee curry with grilled duck. If that last one made you tilt your head sideways while a quizzical yet skeptical expression crept across your face, think again, the sweet and slightly tart nature of the lychee just makes this dish something you have to try. Each plate that came out was better than the first, and everything was delicious and beautifully plated. We were too full for dessert, but Anny came out with a little sampler of a teeny chocolate orange eclair, and a few pieces of sweet roll. The sweet roll is vegan, and all of the pastries are made in house. It was delicious, and I can only imagine how great they taste freshly baked in the morning. But the eclair, that stole the show for me, and reminded me of a pastry version of a Terry's Chocolate Orange <3 All in all, I am so happy and excited that FAV has come to Holladay, and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
